Disassembly Note

Clutch cover, clutch disc (MTX)

  1. 1
    Hold the flywheel by using the SST.
    Clutch cover/disc assembly held by the SST (49 E011 1A0) while removing the clutch cover bolts.

  2. 2
    Remove the clutch cover bolts in two or three steps.
  3. 3
    Remove the clutch cover.
  4. 4
    Remove the clutch cover and disc.

Flywheel (MTX)

  1. 1
    Hold the flywheel by using the SST.

    Remove the flywheel bolts in two or three steps in the order shown.
  3. 3
    Remove the flywheel.
  4. 4
    Remove the SST.

Backing plate, drive plate, and adapter (ATX)

  1. 1
    Hold the drive plate by using the SST.

    Remove the drive plate bolts in two or three steps. (Refer to above.)
  3. 3
    Remove the backing plate, drive plate, and adapter.
  4. 4
    Remove the SST.

Water pipe and thermostat housing

  1. 1
    Disconnect the clip and separate the knock sensor harness from the water pipe.

    Remove the water pipe and thermostat housing as an assembly.
