  1. 2
    Using the crankshaft bolt, turn the crankshaft clockwise and align the timing marks of the timing belt pulley and the oil pump.
    Illustration of the crankshaft timing belt pulley and oil pump; an arrow points to the aligned timing marks of the timing belt pulley and the oil pump.
  2. 3
    Install the timing belt on the pulleys in the order shown below: 1 Timing belt pulley, 2 No.2 idler pulley, 3 LH camshaft pulley, 4 Tensioner pulley, 5 RH camshaft pulley.
    Illustration of the front of the engine showing the timing belt routing over the pulleys with numbered callouts 1-5 indicating the installation order: 1 timing belt pulley, 2 No.2 idler pulley, 3 LH camshaft pulley, 4 tensioner pulley, 5 RH camshaft pulley.
  3. 4
    Verify that there is tension between pulleys 3 and 1, and between pulleys 1 and 5.
  4. 5
    Install the No.1 idler pulley while applying pressure on the timing belt.
    Tightening torque: 38-51 N·m {3.8-5.3 kgf·m, 28-38 ft·lbf}
    Illustration of the timing belt installed over the pulleys; an arrow points to the No.1 idler pulley being installed while pressure is applied on the belt.
  5. 6
    Push the auto tensioner in the direction of the arrow and tighten the bolts.
    Tightening torque: 19-25 N·m {1.9-2.6 kgf·m, 14-18 ft·lbf}
    Illustration of the auto tensioner; an arrow indicates pushing the auto tensioner in the arrow direction before tightening the bolts.
  6. 7
    Remove the pin from the auto tensioner to apply tension to the belt.
