MTX (manual transaxle) uses flywheel; ATX (automatic transaxle) uses drive plate. Crankshaft position sensor rotor on rear of crankshaft pulley.

Dipstick and Pipe

  1. 1
    Install the dipstick and pipe with the clip.

Water Pump Pulley

    Install the water pump pulley.

Crankshaft Pulley

  1. 1
    Hold the flywheel (MTX) or drive plate (ATX) by using the SST.
    Flywheel/clutch assembly held with the SST (special service tool 49 E011 1A0) to hold the flywheel (MTX) or drive plate (ATX) while removing the crankshaft pulley bolt. Tool number label '49 E011 1A0' shown bottom-right.

    Remove the crankshaft pulley bolt.
  3. 3
    Install the crankshaft pulley onto the crankshaft.
    Install the crankshaft pulley carefully. The crankshaft position sensor rotor is on the rear of the pulley, and can be damaged easily.

    Apply clean engine oil to the bolt threads.
  5. 5
    Tighten the crankshaft pulley.
