Tie-rod end ball joint

Tie-rod end ball joint removal

  1. 1
    Remove the cotter pin and loosen the nut so that it is flush with the end of the ball joint stud.
    Line drawing of the front wheel hub/disc, knuckle arm and tie-rod end ball joint; SST 49 0118 350C is used to separate the knuckle arm and ball joint.

    Separate the knuckle arm and ball joint by using the SST.

Engine mount member

Engine mount member removal

  1. 1
    Suspend the engine by using a chain block.

    Remove the No.1 and No.2 engine mount nuts.
  3. 3
    Remove the engine mount member bolts and nuts and remove the engine mount member.

Drive shaft

Drive shaft removal

  1. 1
    Remove the bolts and nuts at the left and right lower arm ball joint.
    Caution: The ball joint dust boots and oil seals are damaged easily if this procedure is not done correctly.

    Remove the joint shaft.

    Pry the lower arms downward to separate them from the knuckles.

    Separate the drive shafts from the transaxle by prying with a bar inserted between the shaft and the case.
