ASSEMBLY — Camshaft Pulley / Lock bolt / Cylinder Head Cover

K8-ZE V6 — left and right camshaft pulleys are not interchangeable (R/L marks).

Camshaft Pulley

  1. 1
    The right and left pulleys are different and must be installed on the same head that they were removed from.

    Install the camshaft pulley so that the "R" mark can be seen and the timing mark aligns with the camshaft knock pin.

    Install the camshaft pulley so that the "L" mark can be seen and the timing mark aligns with the camshaft knock pin.

Camshaft Pulley Lock bolt

  1. 1
    Apply clean engine oil to the lock bolt threads.
  2. 2
    Hold the camshaft by using a wrench on the cast hexagon as shown, and tighten the bolt.
    Tightening torque: 123—140 N·m {12.5—14.3 kgf·m, 91—103 ft·lbf}

Cylinder Head Cover

  1. 1
    Remove all old silicone sealant from the cylinder head and cover.
  2. 2
    Apply silicone sealant to the cylinder head cover as shown in the figure.

    Install the new cylinder head cover gasket into the cylinder head cover.
