LH (left) exhaust manifold and insulator. K8-ZE V6 engine. Bracket/tensioner bolt tightening sequence: hand tighten 1 then 2; final tighten 2 then 1.

Distributor

  1. 1
    Apply clean engine oil to a new O-ring and position it on the distributor.

    Apply engine oil to the drive blade.

    Align the groove of the distributor body and shaft gear mark.
  4. 4
    Install the distributor with the blade fit into the camshaft groove.
  5. 5
    Hand tighten the distributor mounting bolts.

    Connect the high-tension leads.

Exhaust Manifold Assembly (LH)

  1. 1
    Place a new gasket in position.

    Install the left exhaust manifold.

Exhaust Manifold Insulator (LH)

  1. 1
    Install the left exhaust manifold insulator.

Bracket and Tensioner

  1. 1
    Install the bracket and tensioner.
    Bracket and tensioner installed on the engine front. Numbered callouts (1) and (2) indicate the two bolts and their tightening sequence.
  2. 2
    Hand tighten the bolt (1), then bolt (2).
  3. 3
    Tighten the bolt (2), then bolt (1) to the specified torque.
