BLOWER MOTOR / RESISTOR / AIR INTAKE ACTUATOR / BLOWER RELAY

G-42prose procedure

Resistor terminal table lists alternate terminal letters in parentheses for the wire-type variant, e.g. A (D).

Inspection

Blower Motor Inspection

  1. 1
    Disconnect the blower motor connector.
  2. 2
Connect battery positive voltage to terminal A and ground to terminal B of the blower motor. Verify that the motor operates.
Line drawing of the blower motor with its connector. Terminals A and B are labelled at top-left; battery positive voltage is applied to A and ground to B to verify motor operation.
  3. 3
If not as specified, replace the blower motor. (Refer to page G-41.)

RESISTOR

Inspection

Resistor Inspection

  1. 1
    Disconnect the resistor connector.
  2. 2
Check for continuity between the resistor terminals.
Resistor with connector and harness. Connector terminal layout shows positions B and D on top row, A and C on bottom row.
  3. 3
If not as specified, replace the resistor. (Refer to page G-41.)

BLOWER RELAY

Removal / Installation

Blower Relay Removal / Installation

  1. 1
Remove the blower unit. (Refer to page G-40.)
  2. 2
    Disconnect the blower relay connector.
  3. 3
Remove the blower relay from the blower unit.
Blower relay mounted on the blower unit with connector and mounting screw, shown for removal.
  4. 4
Install in the reverse order of removal.

Inspection

Blower Relay Inspection

  1. 1
    Remove the blower relay.
  2. 2
Check for continuity between the relay terminals.
