IGNITION SYSTEM
G-24prose procedureB6 DOHC engine. Idle speed differs MTX (Neutral) vs ATX (P range).
B6 DOHC
- 1Connect a tachometer to the data link connector terminal IG-. Connect a timing light as shown.

- 2Connect the data link connector terminals TEN and GND with a jumper wire.

- 3Check the idle speed.
- 4If necessary, adjust the idle speed. (Refer to section F1.)
- 5Check the ignition timing.
- 6If the ignition timing is not as specified, loosen the distributor lock bolts and turn the distributor to make the adjustment.
- 7Tighten the distributor lock bolts to the specified torque.
- 8Disconnect a jumper wire.
- 9Check if the timing mark (yellow) on the crankshaft pulley and the mark on the timing belt cover are aligned.

Removal / Installation
CAUTION
Reinstall the high-tension leads to their original positions. Incorrect installation can damage the leads and cause power loss, and negatively effect electronic components.
Inspection
- 1Measure resistance of the high-tension leads.
