Step 1

  1. 1
    Disconnect the connecting rod from the mode main link.
    Airflow mode main link and connecting rod assembly, with arrows showing the link motion and the connecting rod that disconnects from the mode main link.
  2. 2
    Turn the ignition switch to ON and set the fan switch to the fourth position.
  3. 3
    Check the outlet airflow while handling the airflow mode main link.

Step 2

  1. 1
    Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
  2. 2
    Disconnect the airflow mode actuator connector.
    Airflow mode actuator connector with jumper wire and voltmeter probes. Connector pin diagram inset shows terminals (L/W), (Y), (G), (BR/Y).
  3. 3
    Connect a jumper wire between the (L/W) and (BR/Y) terminal wires of the airflow mode actuator connector and ground.
  4. 4
    Turn the ignition switch to ON.
  5. 5
    Measure the voltage at the following terminal wires of the airflow mode actuator connector.
    B+: Battery positive voltage

  1. 1
    Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
  2. 2
    Check for continuity between the following terminal wires of the airflow mode actuator connector and ground while turning the mode switches on.
    Airflow mode actuator connector with a probe. Connector pin diagram inset shows terminals (L/B), (G/O), (O), (LG), (Y/R).
