Removal / Installation

    Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. 2
    Remove in the order shown in the figure.
    K8 DOHC distributor removal/installation exploded view in the engine bay. Numbered callouts: 1 resonance duct (K8), 2 high-tension lead, 3 connector, 4 distributor. An O-RING REPLACE note marks the distributor O-ring. Tightening torque 19—25 {1.9—2.6, 14—18} N·m {kgf·m, ft·lbf} for the distributor mounting bolt. An inset (lower left) shows FIRING ORDER AND POSITION on the distributor cap: terminals 6,4,5 top and 1,2,3 bottom.

    Install in the reverse order of removal.

    Adjust the ignition timing. (Refer to page G-23.)
