Check ABS relay harness (motor relay)

  1. 1
    Inspect the fail-safe relay.
  2. 2
    Turn the ignition switch OFF and disconnect the ABS control module connector (18 pin).
    ABS control module 18-pin connector terminal layout. Top row: 2S 2Q 2O 2M (X) 2G 2E 2C 2A; bottom row: 2T 2R 2P 2N 2L 2J 2H 2F 2D 2B.

    Turn the ignition switch ON.
  4. 4
    Connect terminal 2J to a ground.
  5. 5
    Connect terminal 2H to a ground.
  6. 6
    Check the following points:
    Allowing the motor to operate for more than two seconds will damage the ABS motor.

    If not as specified, replace the ABS relay.

Check ABS relay (motor relay)

  1. 1
    Measure the resistance between terminals (e) and (h) or between (a) and (h) of ABS relay box connector.

    Check continuity between terminals (b) and (f).
  3. 3
    Apply 12V to terminals (g) (+) and (h) (-). Check for continuity between terminals (b) and (f).
  4. 4
    If not as specified, replace the ABS relay.
