Check motor harness at ABS control module

  1. 1
    Turn the ignition switch OFF, and disconnect the ABS control module connector (12 pin).

    Measure the resistance between 1 L terminal of the ABS control module connector and a ground.
    ABS control module connector terminal layout diagram (18-pin). Top row: 1M, 1K, (blank/X), 1E, 1C, 1A; bottom row: 1N, 1L, 1J, 1H, 1F, 1D, 1B. Terminal 1L is the motor harness resistance check point.

    If not as specified, check the wiring harness between the ABS motor and the ABS control module and check the motor.
Resistancebetween 1L terminal and ground
1Ω max.

Check motor at ABS hydraulic unit

  1. 1
    Turn the ignition switch OFF.
  2. 2
    Disconnect the ABS hydraulic unit connector (2 pin).
    ABS hydraulic unit motor connector (2-pin) terminal layout, terminals labeled 3a and 3b. Used to measure resistance between connector terminals and to apply 12V to verify motor operation.

    Measure the resistance between the connector terminals.
  4. 4
    Verify that the motor operates when applying 12V to connector (2 pin).
  5. 5
    If not as specified, replace the ABS hydraulic unit.

Check solenoid valve harness of ABS control module

  1. 1
    Turn the ignition switch OFF.
  2. 2
    Measure the resistance between a ground and the following terminals at the ABS control module connector (12 pin). Terminal: 1A, Right rear; 1B, Left front; 1C, Right front; 1D, Left rear
    ABS control module connector terminal layout diagram (18-pin). Top row: 1M, 1K, (blank/X), 1E, 1C, 1A; bottom row: 1N, 1L, 1J, 1H, 1F, 1D, 1B. Terminals 1A, 1B, 1C, 1D are the solenoid valve resistance check points.
  3. 3
    If not as specified, check the wiring harness between the hydraulic unit connector (8 pin) and the ABS control module.
