Pedal Play Inspection

  1. 1
    Depress the pedal a few times to eliminate the vacuum in the system.
    Hand gently depressing the brake pedal to check the free play. Shows the brake pedal and footrest pedal area in the driver footwell.

    Gently depress the pedal by hand and check the free play (until resistance is felt).

Adjustment

  1. 1
    Loosen lock nut (D) and turn rod (C) to adjust the free play.

    Verify the pedal height and the brake light operation.

Pedal-To-Floor Clearance

Inspection

Verify that the distance from the floor panel to the center of the pedal pad is as specified when the pedal is depressed with a force of 588 N {60 kgf, 132 lbf}.
