Rear Disc Pad Quick Inspection (on-vehicle)

    Jack up the rear of the vehicle and support it with safety stands.

    Remove the wheels.
  3. 3
    Sight through the caliper inspection hole and verify the remaining thickness of the pads.

    Replace the pads on the axle as a set if they are at or less than the minimum thickness.

Rear Disc Pad Replacement

    Remove in the order shown in the figure, referring to Removal Note.
    Exploded view of the rear disc brake / caliper assembly with numbered balloon callouts 1-6: bolt, caliper assembly, V-spring, disc pad (marked SST, REPLACE), shim and guide plate, around the hub/rotor. Grease application icons at several points. Tightening torque label points to the bolt: 16-24 N·m {1.6-2.4, 12-17}. Unit note bottom-right: N·m (kgf·m, ft-lbf).

    Inspect all parts and repair or replace as necessary.

    Install in the reverse order of removal, referring to Installation Note.
