Two variant procedures: B6 DOHC NON ABS uses a stop screw and O-ring; B6 DOHC ABS uses a stop pin and O-ring.

Assembly Note

Secondary piston assembly, stop screw and O-ring (B6 DOHC, NON ABS)

  1. 1
    Push the secondary piston assembly in fully.
    Master cylinder body clamped in a vise (by its flange) with the secondary piston assembly installed; a screwdriver is inserted into the stop screw bore from the top to install the stop screw.
  2. 2
    Install and tighten a new O-ring and stop screw.
  3. 3
    Push and release the piston to verify that it is held by the stop screw.

Secondary piston assembly, stop pin and O-ring (B6 DOHC, ABS)

  1. 1
    Install the secondary piston assembly with the piston hole facing the stop pin.
    Master cylinder body clamped in a vise with the ABS-type secondary piston assembly installed; a hand uses a tool to install the stop pin from the side while pushing the piston.
  2. 2
    Install and tighten the new O-ring and stop pin.
  3. 3
    Push and release the piston to verify that it is held by the stop pin.
