Removal / Installation (K8 DOHC)

    Remove in the order shown in the figure, referring to Removal Note.
    Exploded view of the power brake unit removal/installation (K8 DOHC) showing numbered balloon callouts 1-14: connector, vacuum hose, hose (MTX), brake pipe, master cylinder assembly, gasket, retainer, seal and plate assembly, spring clip and clevis pin, nut, fork, nut, power brake unit, gasket. REPLACE labels mark several parts (vacuum hose, gasket items, washer). Two SST locations marked. Torque values: 19—25 {1.9—2.6, 14—18}, 24—34 {2.4—3.5, 18—25}, 19—29 {2.0—3.0, 15—21}, 10—15 {1.0—1.6, 8—11}.

    Install in the reverse order of removal, referring to Installation Note.

    Take the following steps after installation: Add fluid and bleed the air. (Refer to page P-7.) Check all parts for fluid leakage. (Refer to page P-9.) Adjust and check the brake pedal. (Refer to page P-9.) Make an on-vehicle check of the unit. (Refer to page P-26.)
