ACCELERATOR PEDAL

Removal / Inspection / Installation

  1. 1
    Remove in the order shown in figure.
    Exploded view of the accelerator pedal assembly and accelerator cable. Numbered balloon callouts 1-5 identify the accelerator cable (1), retainer (2), clip (3), return spring (4) and accelerator pedal (5). An inset detail at top-right shows the cable end at the throttle. Tightening-torque notes and a 'REPLACE' note are arrowed to fasteners.

    Visually check the accelerator pedal and retainer for cracks and damage. Repair or replace as necessary.
  3. 3
    Install in the reverse order of removal.

Installation / Adjustment

  1. 1
    Depress the accelerator pedal fully. Check if the throttle valve is fully opened.
  2. 2
    Inspect the accelerator cable play.
    Play 1.0-3.0 mm {0.04-0.11 in}

    Loosen nut A to adjust the play if necessary.
