Removal Note

Fuel hose

Water hose

  1. 1
    Before disconnecting the water hose from BAC valve, drain the coolant from the drain plug as shown in figure.

  2. 2
    After installing the throttle body, fill up the coolant to the radiator.

Installation Note

Air intake pipe

  1. 1
    Apply small amount of clean engine oil to O-rings.

  2. 2
    Install the air intake pipe carefully without damaging the O-rings.
  3. 3
    Tighten the bolts in the order shown in the figure.

THROTTLE BODY

Inspection

Throttle body inspection

  1. 1
    Check the throttle body for wear, coolant leakage, and deposit.
    Hand holding/operating the throttle body, showing the throttle valve and lever for the smooth-movement inspection.
  2. 2
    Verify that the throttle valve moves smoothly when the throttle lever is moved from fully closed to fully open.
  3. 3
    Replace the throttle body if necessary.

AIR INTAKE PIPE / INTAKE MANIFOLD

Inspection

Air intake pipe / intake manifold inspection

  1. 1
    Check for damage and cracks.
    Two side-by-side illustrations: left shows the air intake pipe, right shows the intake manifold, for the damage/distortion inspection of the contact surfaces.
  2. 2
    Check the air intake pipe and intake manifold contact surface for distortion as shown in the figure.
  3. 3
    Replace the air intake pipe/intake manifold if necessary.
