CHARCOAL CANISTER

Inspection

  1. 1
    Remove the charcoal canister.
    Drawing of the charcoal canister (cylindrical canister with ports on top and an outlet at the bottom).
  2. 2
    Visually check the charcoal canister for damage or crack.
  3. 3
    Blow through each port and check that air flows.

TWO-WAY CHECK VALVE

Inspection

  1. 1
    Remove the valve.

  2. 2
    Check the operation of the valve by using a vacuum pump.
  3. 3
    If not as specified, replace the two-way check valve.

Apply approx. 2.0kPa {1.5 mmHg, 0.6 in Hg} vacuum at port A

CHECK-AND-CUT VALVE

Inspection

  1. 1
    Remove the valve and plug port C.

  2. 2
    Check operation of the valve by using a vacuum pump.

Apply approx. 1.0-4.90 kPa {7.4-36.7 mmHg, 0.3-1.44 in Hg} vacuum at port A

SEPARATOR

Inspection

  1. 1
    Remove the left side trim.
    Interior view showing the separator location behind the left side trim, near the suspension tower / coil spring.
  2. 2
    Remove the separator.
  3. 3
    Visually check the separator for damage. Replace it if necessary.
