Perform this inspection if the fuel pressure hold inspection is not as specified. (Refer to page F2-107.)
WARNING
Fuel line spills and leaks are dangerous. Fuel can ignite and cause serious injuries or death and damage. Fuel can also irritate skin and eyes. To prevent this, always complete the "Fuel Line Safety Procedures" on page F2-106.
Hold pressure
- 1Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- 2Connect a fuel pressure gauge between the fuel filter and the fuel main hose. (Install clamps as shown.)

- 3Connect the negative battery cable.
- 4Connect the data link connector terminals F/P and GND by using a jumper wire.

- 5Turn the ignition switch to ON for 10 sec. to operate the fuel pump.
- 6Turn the ignition switch to OFF and disconnect the jumper wire.
- 7Pinch the fuel delivery hose with pliers.
- 8Observe the fuel pressure for 5 min.
- 9If not as specified, replace the pressure regulator.
