System Operation
- 1Connect a tachometer to the data link connector IG- terminal.

- 2Connect the SSTs (Engine Signal Monitor and Adapter) to the ECM (Refer to page F2-141.)

- 3Warm-up the engine to normal operating temperature and run it at idle.
- 4Set the SST to terminal 3U to 3Z and make sure the green and red lights flash alternately.

- 5Increase the engine speed to 4,000 rpm; then suddenly release the throttle.
- 6Verify that the red indicator light illuminates while the engine speed is above approximately 1,200 rpm (MTX), 1,500 rpm (ATX) on deceleration.

- 7Increase the engine speed and verify that the maximum rpm does not exceed specification.Specifications: Approx. 7,500 rpm
