CONTROL SYSTEM — Throttle Position Sensor Adjustment / Replacement
F2-151prose procedureAdjustment
NOTE
The throttle adjusting screw is set at the factory and must not be adjusted. Any adjustment will negatively effect the engine performance.
Closed throttle position switch
- 1Turn the ignition switch to OFF and the throttle valve to the closed throttle position.

- 2Disconnect the throttle position sensor connector.

- 3Loosen the throttle position sensor screws.
- 4Rotate the throttle position sensor and adjust continuity between the sensor terminals C and D as shown.
- 5Tighten the throttle position sensor screws. Tightening torque: 1.6—2.3 N·m {16—24 kgf·cm, 14—20 in·lbf}
Closed throttle position switch specification
0.15 mm {0.006 in}
ContinuityYes
0.50 mm {0.020 in}
ContinuityNo

Variable resister
- 1Remove the ECM. (Refer to page F2-141.)
- 2Connect the SSTs to the ECM connector as shown.

- 3Verify that the throttle valve is at the closed throttle position.
- 4Loosen the attaching screws.
- 5Turn the ignition switch to ON.
- 6Measure the ECM terminal 2F voltage.
- 7Adjust the voltage to the specification. Specification: Closed throttle position: 0.1—1.1V; Wide open throttle: 2.8—4.5V (Verify that the voltage increase is directly proportioned to the throttle valve opening angle.)
- 8Tighten the attaching screws. Tightening torque: 1.6—2.3 N·m {16—24 kgf·cm, 14—20 in·lbf}
- 9If not adjusted, replace the throttle position sensor.
