Fuel pump maximum pressure

  1. 1
    Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. 2
    Connect a fuel pressure gauge to the fuel main pipe and plug the outlet of the gauge as shown. (Install clamps as shown.)
    Engine-bay view with a PRESSURE GAUGE connected to the fuel main pipe and the gauge outlet PLUGged, as set up for fuel pump maximum pressure measurement.

    Connect the negative battery cable.
  4. 4
    Connect data link connector terminals F/P and GND by using a jumper wire.

    Turn the ignition switch to ON to operate the fuel pump.
  6. 6
    Measure the fuel pump maximum pressure.
  7. 7
    Turn the ignition switch to OFF and disconnect the jumper wire.
  8. 8
    If not as specified, replace the fuel pump.

Continuity

Fuel Pump Continuity

  1. 1
    Remove the rear seat cushion.
    Rear seat area view with two arrows pointing to the REAR SEAT CUSHION BUTTON locations to be released when removing the rear seat cushion.
  2. 2
    Disconnect the fuel pump connector.
  3. 3
    Check for continuity between the fuel pump connector terminals B and H.
    Under-seat view of the fuel pump connector with an ohmmeter/circuit tester connected to check continuity between the fuel pump connector terminals.
  4. 4
    If there is none, replace the fuel pump.
