Webbing inspection
- 1Inspect the webbing for scars, tears, and wear.

- 2Inspect the fittings for deformation.
- 3If a problem is found, replace the seat belt assembly.

Emergency locking retractor inspection
- 1Verify that the belt can be pulled out smoothly, and that it moves smoothly when worn.
- 2Verify that the retractor locks when the belt is quickly pulled.
- 3Remove the retractor.
- 4Hold the retractor as it would be installed.

- 5Slowly incline the retractor while pulling out the belt.
- 6Verify that the retractor locks at approximately 30 degrees inclination.
- 7If not as specified, replace the seat belt assembly.
