TRANSAXLE — Assembly notes (bearing races, oil seals, boot, bearing preload)

Bearing race (transaxle case)
- 1Install the adjustment shim(s) to the primary and secondary shaft bearing seats in the transaxle case.

- 2Apply transaxle oil to each bearing race, and install them to the transaxle case by using a suitable pipe.
Oil seal (change rod assembly)
- 1Install the new oil seal by using a suitable pipe.

- 2Coat the lip of the oil seal with transaxle oil.

Boot
Install the boot so that the drain hole is facing downward when mounted on the vehicle.
Oil seal (primary shaft)
Apply transaxle oil to the outer circumference of the oil seal, and install it to the transaxle case by using a suitable pipe.
Bearing preload
Verify the shaft gears and the differential bearing preloads. Readjust the bearing preloads if they are not within specification.
Bearing preload
- 1Set the primary shaft gear assembly and the differential into the clutch housing.

- 2Install the transaxle case, and tighten to the specified torque.
