Manual transaxle secondary shaft assembly procedure

1st/2nd clutch hub assembly

    Press the 1st/2nd clutch hub assembly on by using the SST.
    Press setup pressing the 1st/2nd clutch hub assembly onto the secondary shaft using SST 49 F401 335A. Clutch hub assembly labeled with leader line at lower left.

2nd synchronizer ring, 2nd gear and secondary 3rd gear

    Install the 2nd synchronizer ring and 2nd gear.

    Install the secondary 3rd gear by using the SST.

Secondary 4th gear and bearing

    Install the secondary 4th gear and the bearing by using the SST.

    Measure the clearance between the 1st gear and the differential drive gear.

    Measure the clearance between the 2nd gear and the secondary 3rd gear.

    If not as specified, reassemble the secondary shaft assembly.
Clearance (1st gear / differential drive gear)
0.05—0.28mm {0.002—0.011 in}
Maximum (1st gear / differential drive gear)
0.33mm {0.013 in}
Clearance (2nd gear / secondary 3rd gear)
0.18—0.46mm {0.007—0.018 in}
Maximum (2nd gear / secondary 3rd gear)
0.51mm {0.020 in}
