ENGINE SPEED SENSING POWER STEERING
N-28prose procedure10. Support yoke
- 1Secure the gear housing in a vise so that the support yoke position faces upward.

- 2Apply grease to the rack sliding surface of the support yoke, then install it in the housing.
- 3Install the support yoke.
- 4Install the spring.
11. Adjusting cover and locknut
- 1Apply sealant to the adjusting cover and temporarily tighten it to a torque of 11 N·m {110 kgf·cm, 95 in·lbf}.

- 2Move the rack back and forth approx. 3 times and loosen the adjusting cover.
- 3Retighten the adjusting cover to the specified torque and then loosen it 0—40°.
- 4Tighten the locknut with the SST.
- 5Measure the pinion starting torque with the SST and a pull scale.

- 6If not as specified, repeat Steps 3 to 5.
