Steering wheel

Remove the steering wheel with a suitable puller.

Installation Note

Steering wheel

With the wheels in the straight-ahead position, install the steering wheel.

Disassembly / Inspection / Assembly

    Disassemble in the order shown in the figure, referring to Disassembly Note.
    Exploded view of the steering shaft assembly for disassembly/assembly. Components: steering lock assembly (1) at top secured by lock bolts marked 'LOCK BOLTS, REPLACE', fixing bolt for universal joint/intermediate shaft (2), intermediate shaft (3), fixing bolt for steering shaft/universal joint (4) with a washer marked 'WASHER, REPLACE', universal joint (5), and energy absorbing shaft assembly (6). Torque callouts 18—26 {1.8—2.7, 14—19} appear at items 2 and 4.

    Assemble in the reverse order of disassembly, referring to Assembly Note.
