REAR STABILIZER

Removal / Inspection / Installation

    Jack up the rear of the vehicle and support it with safety stands.
  2. 2
    Remove the wheels.
  3. 3
    Remove in the order shown in the figure.
    Exploded view of the rear stabilizer (sway bar) and its mounting at the rear knuckle/hub. Numbered balloon callouts 1-6: nuts, protectors, bolts, stabilizer brackets, stabilizer bushings, stabilizer bar. Torque callout 44-60 N·m {4.4-6.2, 32-44}. Torque legend N·m {kgf·m, ft·lbf} bottom-right.

    Visually inspect each part and replace as necessary.

    Install in the reverse order of removal.

    Loosely tighten the stabilizer bracket bolts. Tighten other nuts to the specified torque.
  7. 7
    Install the wheels. (Tightening torque: 89-117 N·m {9.0-12.0 kgf·m, 66-86 ft·lbf})
  8. 8
    Lower the vehicle.
  9. 9
    With the vehicle unloaded, tighten the stabilizer bracket bolts to the specified torque.
