Assembly Note — Coil spring (continued)

    Align the marks of the mounting block and coil spring. Protect the mounting block and the coil spring with a piece of cloth; then assemble the SSTs.
    Coil spring compressor SST 49 T034 1A0 assembled to compress the coil spring. A hand turns the compressor screw. Callouts: 49 T034 101 (compressor, spring), 49 T034 104 (support), 49 T034 102 (stand), 49 T034 103 (hook).

    Use the SSTs to compress the spring.

    Install the lower spring seat.

    Install the bound stopper.

    Install the dust cover.

    Install the shock absorber, fitting the end of the coil into the step of the lower seat.

    Install the retainer and washer.
  8. 10
    Loosely tighten the nut.

    Carefully loosen and remove the SSTs.
  10. 12
    Verify that the coil spring is correctly seated in the mounting block and lower spring seat.
  11. 13
    Secure the mounting block in a vise.
    Shock absorber/coil spring assembly secured in a bench vise via the mounting block, with a wrench tightening the nut to the specified torque.

    Install the retainer and washer.
  13. 15
    Tighten the nut to the specified torque. (Tightening torque: 55-67 N·m {5.6-6.9 kgf·m, 41-49 ft·lbf})
  14. 16
    Install the cap over the nut.
