When using SST (49 G034 1A0)

    Assemble the SSTs.
    Coil spring compressor SST 49 G034 1A0 applied to a shock absorber/coil spring. Callout labels point to SST sub-parts: 49 G034 102 (screw), 49 G034 103 (arm), 49 G034 101 (body). A hand turns the compressor screw.
  2. 4
    Compress the coil spring by using the SSTs.
  3. 5
    Remove the nut.
  4. 6
    Remove the coil spring.

When using SST (49 T034 1A0)

    Assemble the SSTs.
    Coil spring compressor SST 49 T034 1A0 mounted on an engine stand to compress the rear coil spring. Callouts: 49 T034 101 (compressor, spring), 49 T034 104 (support), 49 T034 103 (hook), 49 T034 102 (stand), 49 T034 105 (attachment), 49 0107 680A (engine stand). Labeled WHEN USING ENGINE STAND.

    Secure the shock absorber in the SSTs.

    Compress the coil spring by using the SSTs and remove the nut.

Assembly Note — Coil spring — When using SST (49 G034 1A0)

    Secure the shock absorber in a vise.
  2. 2
    Install the lower spring seat.

    Install the coil spring, fitting the end of the coil into the step of the lower seat.

    Compress the coil spring by using the SSTs.

    Install the bound stopper and the stopper seat.
