Removal / Inspection / Installation

    Jack up the front of the vehicle and support it with safety stands.

    Remove the wheels.
  3. 3
    Remove in the order shown in the figure, referring to Removal Note.

Upper portion shows the lower arm mounted to the strut/knuckle and subframe; lower-left inset shows the front lower arm assembly with SST/REPLACE markings on bushings and ball joint; lower-right shows the assembled lower arm. Torque values in N·m {kgf·m, ft·lbf}.

    Visually inspect each part and replace as necessary.

    Install in the reverse order of removal, referring to Installation Note.
  6. 6
    Loosely tighten the lower arm bolt and nuts. Tighten all other nuts and bolts to the specified torque.

    Install the wheels. (Tightening torque: 89-117 N·m {9.0-12.0 kgf·m, 66-86 ft·lbf})
  8. 8
    Lower the vehicle.
  9. 9
    With the vehicle unloaded, tighten the lower arm bolt and nuts to the specified torque.
  10. 10
    After installation, measure the front wheel alignment, and adjust it, if necessary. (Refer to page R-7.)
