DRIVE SHAFT
M-32prose procedureStandard length differs by engine (B6/K8), transaxle (MTX/ATX), side, and ABS vs NON ABS. B6 DOHC left-side length is the same for ABS and non-ABS.
Outer ring
- 1Fill the outer ring and boot (transaxle side) with the specified grease supplied in the boot and joint kit.
- 2Align the free ring marks and the tripod joint marks.Be careful not to drop the free rings when installing the tripod joint outer ring.

Boot band
- 1Verify that the boots are not dented or twisted.
- 2Set the drive shaft to the standard length.
- 3Release any trapped air from inside the boot by using a rag-covered screwdriver.
- 4Verify that the drive shaft length is within the standard.
- 5If the drive shaft length is not within the standard, return to step 1.
- 6Fold the new bands back by pulling on the ends with pliers, so that the end of the bands are pointing opposite the forward revolving direction of the shaft.
- 7Lock the ends of the bands by bending the locking clips.
