Disc brake type rear axle (with ABS sensor rotor).

Removal Note

Locknut

  1. 1
    Knock the crimped portion of the locknut outward by using a small chisel and a hammer.
    Rear disc-brake hub on the trailing arm with a chisel applied to the locknut; an inset (upper right) shows the locknut detail. Illustrates knocking the crimped portion of the locknut outward and locking the hub by applying the brakes.

    Lock the hub by applying the brakes.
  3. 3
    Remove the locknut.

Installation Note

Locknut

Install a new locknut and stake it, as shown.
Tightening torque (locknut)
177 - 235N·m

    Disassemble in the order shown in the figure, referring to Disassembly Note.
    Exploded view of the rear hub bearing assembly. Balloon 1 ABS sensor rotor (toothed ring, SST, REPLACE) at upper-left, balloon 2 Hub bolt (REPLACE) lower-left, balloon 3 Hub bearing assembly (integral hub with wheel studs) at right.

    Assemble in the reverse order of disassembly, referring to Assembly Note.
