Handling connectors

Connector removal
InstructionPush type, pull-up type and spring type connectors are removed as shown. Press the lock/tab as indicated by the arrows and pull the connector halves apart.
Checking connector contacts
InstructionCaution: Improperly engaged connectors will cause poor terminal contact. When using a matching male terminal, make sure there is no looseness in the female terminal.
Checking for loose terminals
InstructionCaution: A loose terminal will cause poor terminal contact. Make sure the terminals are not pushed out of the connector when engaged. Pull lightly on individual wires to check that they are secured in the terminal.
Replacing terminal — CPU connector
Instruction1. Raise the rear cover. 2. Lift the tab with a thin piece of metal and remove the terminal.
Replacing terminal — General connector
InstructionLift the tab with a thin piece of metal and remove the terminal.
Replacing terminal — Round connectors
Instruction1. Raise the cover. 2. Lift the terminal to remove it. 3. Make sure the terminal is securely mounted in the connector when installing.
Replacing terminal — Common ground connectors
Instruction1. Raise the cover. 2. Remove A. 3. Lift the tab with a thin piece of metal and remove the terminal.
