Overhaul

  1. 1
Disassemble in the order shown in the figure, referring to Disassembly Note.
Exploded view of the clutch release cylinder (B6 DOHC) disassembly order. Numbered callouts 1-8: push rod, boot, piston and cup assembly, return spring, bleeder cap, bleeder screw, steel ball, release cylinder body. Two magnified insets show the piston/cup with brake fluid application and the release cylinder body. Bleeder screw torque 5.9-8.8 N·m (60-90 kgf·cm, 53-78 in-lbf).
  2. 2
Inspect all parts and repair or replace as necessary.
  3. 3
Wipe all parts, and clean all ports, passages, and inner parts with compressed air.
Using compressed air can cause dirt and other particles to fly out, causing injury to the eyes. Wear protective eye wear whenever using compressed air.
  4. 4
Assemble in the reverse order of disassembly.
