INSPECTION
Oil pressure inspection
- 1Remove the oil pressure switch.
- 2Screw the SST into the oil pressure switch installation hole.
- 3Warm up the engine to normal operating temperature.
- 4Run the engine at 1,000 rpm and 3,000 rpm, and note the gauge reading.Oil pressure varies with oil viscosity and temperature.
- 5If the pressure is not as specified, check for the cause and repair. (Refer to Troubleshooting Guide, page D2-3.)
- 6Apply sealant to the oil pressure switch threads.
- 7Remove the SST and install the oil pressure switch.
- 8Start the engine and check for oil leaks.
